Artist Statement
Abby sees designing as solving a puzzle. Anyone can put together a set of information on a Powerpoint slide, but to consider typography, readability, flow of information, color, placement of text and all the little nitty gritties is what designing entails. She loves translating and bringing to life ideas that are taking shape in one’s mind. This has always been the type of problem solving she gravitates towards.
She believes good design can communicate so much with just very little. Thoughtfulness in the right places, intentionality with every choice, the countless back and forth are what many do not see. One might think these things do not make a difference, but once you do see it, there is no going back. Designing to her is like walking into a space and instantly feeling at ease. Sometimes, you can’t even put a finger on what it is, but everything just feels right. This she finds is the beauty and power of designing.
