“Portrait of Nathanial” was the second portrait I had painted in my Painting I course. Through this piece I had learned significantly about how light and shadow interacted with the structures of the face, as well as the interaction of undertones. While the goal was certainly realism and ressemblance to Nathanial, I began to lean more into a more graphic style of painting.
